I've tested with the Canon 1.4TC en the Sigma 1.4TC. And also to me, there was very little difference (there is some, but I think even slightly in the advantage of the Sigma!). The difference you can see is in the bricks slightly to the left of the center. The Sigma seems to leave some extra detail.
Another difference you'll notice is that the Sigma's reach is larger than the Canon's. All the pictures were taken from a tripod from the exact same location (I just switched lenses without taking the cam from the tripod). So that can influence your decision to...
Another good one is the Kenko 300PRO, even cheaper than the sigma (costs about €150 around Belgium/Holland) and can be used on more lenses than the Canon or Sigma-counterpart due to its specific build... A friend of mine has the Kenko... It's the only one that fits his Sigma 50-500...

Hi Marc,
I see you have tested 70-200 f4 with both Canon and Sigma teleconverters. To me there was no difference in quality (at 200 mm) looking at these photos. I own a 70-200 f4 too and a teleconverter could be an option for me instead of 300 mm lens. What TC was that sigma?
