Thanks for the feedback. Yes, certainly revisiting a shot from a while back. CS2 was not used, and actually dual focal planes are not necessary for display on the web as the difference is not perceivable (although this was done for the purpose of very large prints). This shot carefully focused at f/16 (just beyond the sphere) would even produce sharp detail throughout in all but the largest print sizes. But where's the fun in that... :)

Perfect timing! Revisiting old favorites with a new toy?

I'm still at a loss to explain how you manage to do the multiple focal length merge thing, assuming that's what's going on here.

Amazing. Did you use the Hyper Dynamic Range of CS2 or stitch on the fly? Incredible capture and study in optical geometry. If M.C. Escher had found a digital camera instead of a pencil, . . . . . g
