Egret Art Photo
#49297 Anyone who takes pictures has a few of these shots, maybe a lot of them. This was the perfect pose on the perfect limb, and I missed it. I could not bring myself to delete the image because I liked the composition so much. I decided to try Photoshopping it and seeing what could come of it. I used paint daubs very fine and ended up with a pointillist Chinese painting looking thing. Lesson learned, I will not delete soft photos anymore with strong compositions. I think this is legitimate photo art. I wish it had been a legitimate photo, but the fallback is not too bad.
I write about my photo exploits on my Arkansas gallery and blog. I encourage everyone to visit it,
http://arkansaswildlifephotography.com. You might wish to visit this place. It has a lot to offer photographers. All my nature photos are taken within 30 miles of my home, and most are within 15.

Osprey on Boxley Valley Mill Pond
#50127 I have been waiting to get this bird. Ospreys don't come around the Boxley Valley that often, and usually it perches so far away I can't get a decent picture. Today was different, and I feel I have my first serviceable image.

Great White Egret -- B&W
#49360 This is one of my best bird photos. I try not to get them sitting on limbs, I like dynamic flight shots, landing shots, something different. In this picture I got real excited about the limb because I liked it's texture and form. I didn't expect to get a picture that would kind of extend that form. This one pleases me a lot, because it is so different.
