Swiffer in Selective Light
I like taking pictures of cats in part because they pose so many ways spontaneously. This is a good example of what I call the curve pose. Swiff's body and tail are forming a complex curvy pose. The light accents it.

Swiffer Along The Trail
We have resumed our ritual of hiking out back most days. We nearly lost Swiffer a few weeks back to an animal bite and infection. This 14 year old made a come back and now is walking me most days. Our little 1/4th mile hike allows him to roam without worry of a coyote attack. Many of the pictures here are from those hikes.

Swiffer on the Mend
The story continues. Swiffer was bit by a snake, he bucked it for 2 weeks, and now has found new life. I took this of him today drinking out of one of of our springs out back.

The Final Path
I have 2 cats who are constant companions when I shoot photos out back behind our home. We have the good fortune to have 800 feet adjacent to the 3,300 acre Ponca Wilderness of the Buffalo National River.
Our oldest cat, Swiffer, showed up a couple of years back and adopted us. He is well over 10 and only recently has begun to falter after mixing it up with a raccoon. Today he seems to be dying, but only he knows. He is less responsive, has little interest in food, and barely lifts his head to acknowledge my presence.
So this is a tribute photo to an old friend who is slipping away, showing him in black and white looking up one of our favorite trails symbolizing his final path.

Balzac is our latest adopted cat. He showed up out of nowhere, and just took over. He is small, but fierce. This picture is when he is "in state", meaning mightily ready to fight. He is at most half tame, enough for my taste.

Loving Him With Her Eyes
Our cat Boat is stalking our chipmunk. This is a long running game. He knows she is there and she imagines she will catch him when he is not looking. #31,171
