Each year on 9/11 I return to the World Trade Center site and photograph a small piece of the day. It's a day of remembrance, sorrow and healing for me. I do find comfort in the St Paul photos. Behind each of the chapel's mementos stands a volunteer who traveled far from home to assist in the early rescue efforts or a class of children who have sent their prayers or a grieving family memorializing a loved one.
I'm sorry the images of these items didn't connect with you.

It's okay, but lacking poignancy. 9/11 was about loss of lives, and the terror that was inflicted on New York City. Your reflection on memorabilia leaves us feeling very cold and distant. Perhaps this is the way you deal with your emotions, but this tragedy was far from that.
