Peter Katsaros was a long-time active member of the Connecticut-Westchester Mycological Association (COMA). He was author of a book on the Myxomycetes (Slime Molds) and another on common mushrooms of our country. His remarkable photography graces these as well as other books, including the Audubon Field Guide to Mushrooms of North America by Gary Lincoff. Through the efforts of Mushroom Guru Sam Ristich, Sandy Sheine and others, COMA is fortunate to have recently acquired his slide collection of photos taken over the course of many years. We are especially grateful to Jerry Sheine for the time and expertise he invested in digitizing Peter's slides so that we can put them up on this site for everyone to enjoy and learn from.
