George Johanson was our able and enthusiastic walk leader. Two new attendees, Christina and Lloyd, made the experience of searching for fungi even more enjoyable. We are now in the season for finding the edibles Grifola frondosa, Armillaria mellea, Entoloma abortivum and Lepista (Clitocybe) nuda. Everyone was happy with the harvest of these delicious fungi. Pholiota squarrosa was found along the path on a rotting log. We also found the dark forest floor covered in gorgeous yellow and orange Hygrocybe species.
