Make a mark on both parts to be able to align them up properly or they will not fit on the bike correctly.

Before putting the packing material on, take a piece of wire screen material and wrap around the exhaust tube, then put on the packing material and then hold in place with a couple pieces of wire.

This shows the Givi E128 Base on the JR Rear Rack. Notice the E128 place hangs off the rear and the sides, but it is solidly bolted on the rack
