To the family of Bethany. I know extactly what you went through. My oldest daughter had a brain tumor as well(astrocytoma)and her's was benign too. The tumor was pushing up against her optic nerve to where she was having trouble seeing. We were fortunate that they were able to operate and remove the tumor. After the surgery the doctor came out and talked with us and said all went well, but the the tumor was starting to attach itself to her brain stem so the couldn't remove that portion. Her body would eventually get rid of it,and it did. She did develope hydrocephalus and had a VP shunt put in. She was 9yrs old when this horrible event happend to her (us). Last April 08' she had two back to back surgeries because her shunt wasn't working. She has had a total of 3 shunt revisions. She is 18yrs old now and will graduate this May, we are very grateful to God for granting us all these years with her. I will always have your family in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless and watch over you always. Rita Staley.

Such a sad story. My better half works at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati and has come home with so many sad stories and very few happy ones. I can only wish the best for her at that maybe a miracle will happen for her.
