Milford house badly damaged in fire

MILFORD -- A house on Cedar Hill Road was badly damaged by an early morning blaze, according to fire officials.

The fire sparked just before 7 a.m. Friday morning at 62 Cedar Hill Rd. Three residents of the house were able to escape without injuries.

Milford firefighters arrived to find flames shooting from the roof of a two-story residential building, officials said. The fire began in the center of the second-floor of the house and extended into the attic, destroying the interior of the home and the roof.

Firefighters from the West Shore Fire District in West Haven covered the New Haven Avenue station as Milford firefighters battled the blaze.

The city fire marshal is investigating.
