Heather Simonds is a Canadian photographer, currently making her home on acreage near Calgary. Originally from the Maritimes she has traveled extensively throughout the country and the world checking out people, places, animals, botany, all of which provide subjects for her images. She is a birder and Master Gardener and remains “camera ready” in all seasons. Birds have taught Heather a lot including animal behavior, weather, and especially patience and humility. Simplistic but true, photography catches the moment, rekindles and reminds of the hawk cry, the owl hoot, the territorial plea of the songbird, the fox bark, the lion roar... It also offers the opportunity to view the fleeting moment in more detail, admire nature's intricate gift or capture the emotional appeal of a family celebration.
She has a website where more of her images are available for viewing and prints: http://www.lightmatters.ca/
