12 JAN 08 FOR JOHN & KAREN

And a few others who P-Mailed me privately

This shows the other wall color . . .I think it was called "winter evening" or maybe "Seashell" something or other (this was with flash, so it is a bit washed-out looking compared to yesterday's shot)

The lighter wall is the largest wall in the room.

As you can see there is a definite contrast
And the carpet adds yet another color, so there are three main colors in the room

To the left is the aquarium, the right is the fireplace

As we found out, the dark color requires LOTS of coats to cover, so we abandoned that idea
We went to Walmart and purchased a primer (like Kilz) with the color added to that and it went on in one coat =)

The dark color is flat (matte) and the light color has a glaze

Nice shot.

Very nice. It even got my wife's seal of approval. Now whether she lets me paint a wall that color or not is a whole 'nother subject. ;)

A lovely result for all the planning and hard work!

I still love it!!! I may have to do a wall similar in my living room!

I like that color but you need lots of space to have it. The little chest is a treasure and I notice the "southern hospitality" symbol, the pineapple.

I react badly to smells, too, Karen . . . but we got lucky with the weather this last week (70's all week=) so we could have doors and windows open . . .plus we added almost a whole bottle of vanilla ('m told lemon works too) and the smell was MUCH less

V V cool!
And right on about the kilz (the stuff smells so! bad tho!!!) Esp with 100 year old walls that have a lot of saturated moisture--it sure helps with any residual mold issues that might pop out. What's the red color called?

yep, the telescope needs some work!

A nice contrast between wall colors.

You forgot to paint the telescope.
