24 AUG 08

He's not healthy, or he's very young, but he's mobile. He let me get within two or three feet. I should catch him for observation and assessment =)

He's a Hip-hop-Jay . . . that's it . . .he's HIPhop JAY, everyone . . .meet HH cool J!!
He flitters and hops everywhere he needs to be.
He's not afraid of anyone or anything approaching him, but he does flitter away. He doesn't fly, he flits, hops and flops down. He makes perimeter rounds around the yard and pops up on top of fountain, sings & garners seeds & other food.
He doesn't move fast & because of that I think I can capture him,

I went to an introduction to wildlife rehab over the weekend . . .
BUT I didn't pay complete attention as to how to help a bird.

I know I can help a rabbit or squirrell (they are the snack candy of the animal world)

Dunno what to do for HIb hOp here . . . . .
I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too sleeepppy to undertsand what I wrote tonite

I'll catch him tomorrow & then think about it

Poor little Jay, he's a target for the neighbourhood cats & dogs down there, Pete...time to do a rescue operation.

LOL! They love sunflower seeds! Get some of that and he should be happy. Looks fairly young!

Your caption is a total hoot ... sleepy or tipsy? ;-)
Love the shot of the Jay. It is terrific.
