**Follow the USNS Comfort's Blog while in Haiti**

I want to thank MM1 Christian for an enlightening, educational, and entertaining tour of the *USNS Comfort* Hospital Ship in May 2006.
Additionally I'd like to recognize LCDRs Kunkel, Jenkins, and Lopez for their contribution to my experience in their departments.

To the crew of the USS Comfort. Thank you for being there. We all have a tendency to take what you do for granted. Your Hospital Ship name comes up quite often as the Red Cross works with the US Navy in caring for loved ones left behind. Without your professional assistance many of these stories would not have a happy ending. Enjoy the holidays - we're thinking of you. Hi Buddy, we sure miss you. Adrik and I are sure we saw you in one of the pictures on another USNS Comfort website. We printed it, just in case it is you. We saw your father and Linda in July. They are well. You have a new niece. Sarah doing good. Well, we hope all is right with your world. Dan and Granny say hi. We all love you.

For great trip photos, google "usns comfort southern command". They have a Commander's web log and a map of the trip to date. In addition, towards the bottom there is a link to many photos of the trip so far.
As I said in a previous post- my son is permanently assigned to the ship and I'm very proud.

I don't know how I found this site, but was sure blessed by it. My son is on the ship too and I had been wondering where they were. The pictures are great and it helps me to understand a little of what the ship is like. My son is loving every minute of it and is working with one of the doctors which is totally out of the field he is studying under. But after this experiece, he is seriously thinking of going into the medical field. Thanks for your web-site and keep it up so I can know where my son is.

My son is on the USS Comfort in South America. I really appreciate this site and a chance to see what it might be like for him. I am so proud of all of them -- thank you for preparing this page! Like the ships name, it is a comfort to know that these service people are actually serving...and not warring! It must feel good.

My husband and I are on the board of directors of The American Society of Panama, and were invited by the American Embassy in Panama to welcome the USNS Comfort to Panama City, Panama today at Mira Flores Locks.We waved our American flags with GREAT pride as she passed through the locks. After leaving the locks we took an awesome picture of her going under The Bridge of the Americas enroute to Ecuador. Would love to be able to post that and Mira Flora pictures.

My best ragards to the Medical Staff and to all of the crew onboard, my son had an operation today july 8th, he came back happy with the treatment and how he was attended by the medical staff, me too due to his interest in studying naval engineering, he is 13 years old, from Colon, Panama.....

My son Brandon is a journalist on the USS Comfort for 4 months in South America. I am very proud of him back home in Texas. I really liked the tour on this website of the ship.

My son is a Corpsman permanently assigned to the Comfort. I received an e-mail from him and his story of Belize was incredible. He was obviously impressed and taken by emotion. I think they're in Guatemala now, but haven't really been able to find any news reports.
Thanks for the tour of the ship. It makes me feel closer to him.

My brother Joe ( Commander Burkard) just got assigned to the USS COMFOFT for a summer cruise in 2007. Iam at work at the firehouse & took a moment to look up his ship, I am impressed with your photos &felt right there.
