Guan Yu

Ling Tu Monastery, Hong Kong view map

Guan Yu, (unknown – 219AD) was a general
in late Eastern Han Dynasty and Three Kingdoms era.
He is one of the best know Chinese historical figures.
His stories in the historical novel “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”
make him the best example of loyalty and righteousness.

Guan Yu is still being popularly worshiped by common folks in southern China.
In Hong Kong, each police station has a shrine for Guan Yu and
most Chinese policemen today still worship and pay respect to him.
