Under the eaves of the main hall,
there are two honorific boards bestowed on
the parents and grandparents of the original house master, Man Chung-luen
by the Qing Emperor in 1875.
Both boards, engraved with Chinese and Manchu characters,
are the only known examples of the kind in Hong Kong.
Manchu, today's Northeastern China.
Their people conquered the Ming Dynasty and founded the Qing Dynasty in 1644,
which ruled China until its abolition in 1911.
