This broken signboard is the only remaining part of Yeuk Hui Study Hall.
The study hall was built around 1870 at Ping Shan,
a northwest suburb in the New Territories of Hong Kong.
The Tangs (A family in Hong Kong with long history)
at Ping Shan had made tremendous efforts to promote education.
The Yeuk Hui Study Hall was one of the purposely-buit study halls
for the youngsters in that area.
The right most Chinese characters on the signboard say that the study hall was restored in 1903.
This signboard was found inside a dark room of an ancient guest house.
I found the only light from the windows beautifully shed on the signboard.
