Using special equipment, these images have been taken in extreme low light conditions in order to demonstrate the fluorescent pigmentation present in certain reef organisms. A small amount of processing is normally applied to images but the colours observed are 'as seen' under such illumination. Unlike actinic photography, these are 'pure fluorescence' images.
