Snowy Owl

Lincoln Co WA

I have never seen a Snowy perch on a wire. My Canadian friends see way more Snowy Owls then I. Have you seen this?

Excellent capture! V

Never seen one on a wire either - usually a pole or building. They prefer the tallest vantage point. This is a fabulous capture.

I've never seen a snowy owl, period!! But this one seems to like sitting on the wire :) or maybe he's frozen there. Nice eye contact and a great catch, Tom. V~

Beautiful well exposed image Tom. Like you, I have not seen one perched on a wire. On small branches yes and on poles, barn roofs or silos but never on a wire.

I don't know owls Tom or their behaviors, but I've never seen a pix of one sitting on a wire. He is gorgeous! I hear some are farther south this year?

Incredible!!! I've never seen a snowy owl before, let alone one sitting on a wire. He's really beautiful Tom! BV

Beautiful light here!
As for perching, it is a bit unusual!
They prefer tip of a tree, barn's roof or top of a pole!!

Wow Tom, I never tire of looking at your wonderful images.
Great job on what looks like a very tricky exposure. Big vote.

Nice shot Tom. Managed to get a shot of one yesterday, but didn't stay around long... The one I shot a photo of had a round red circle between in eyes... Must have been one that was moved in or came in on its own.. Going out a take another look for him today..

its a beauty of a bird; not keen on wire, but forgivable with snowy owl and snow on it!
