Safer bridge

After two head-on collisions in the past year and several since the
bridge was constructed in the 1970s, government finally succumbed to
public pressure to insert a barrier between the northbound and southbound lanes.

(Mount Baker in Washington State in the background).

This is the same bridge, linking the communities of Abbotsford and Mission across the
Fraser River, that I have used in previous PaDs: http://www.pbase.com/cliff0108/image/32315016

Great shot Cliff. The conversion is excellent, betting a lot of people are irritated right now, but it looks like the project is well past due.

From where did you take this picture?

Black and white in this instance gives me the impression of a historical scene, for some reason. The vehicles are great in this. The first question I asked myself was, "I wonder what mountain that is?" and you answered it forth with. Very interesting.

Interesting b&w composition. Beautiful work.

nice photo, you have to wonder why so many people had to be hurt or die before some thing is done.

Its good to construct safer bridges, hopefully this will contribute to less car accidents. I love the tones, they are very appealing in this image.

Doesn't look too safe at the moment!! that big arm thing with a cement barrier dangling off it would intimidate me!

This is a nice capture! Great in b&w!!

Nicely captured.

Hey Cliff! This is such an wonderful BW!
Gary Winters22-Apr-2005 17:14
Good shot. I like the black and white, the "discovery" of the mountain in the background, and the energy frozen in the shot with the hoist or crane or whatever it's called.

Trucks at work! Good capture there, Cliff. I love it in b&w.

A really good use of black and white.
Guest 22-Apr-2005 15:25
nice in b&w! reminds me of a film with a car chase in it! (not sure which one!)

Great image for B&W!

Doing this in b&w makes good sense.
And is that Mount Baker in the background?
