Rye is a picturesque town on England's south east coast. But the town with its narrow streets just seemed too crowded with traffic and people so I went to the harbour area instead, which is detached.
I discovered this old railway carriage there which I think is let out.
I have read it may be one from the old South Eastern Railway, but I imagine it was taken out of service at least 50 years ago. It was in the early to mid 1960s that a great many rural branch lines closed in response to growing car ownership.
