Kingston is my nearest point to London and I have several connections with it. My Dad lived here or very nearby for about 43 years, and I also went to a further education college here. Additionally, mum would come here for 'special' shopping when our own town wasn't good enough. Bentalls is a department store that has been a fixture in Kingston for decades, but a few years ago the store was redeveloped, with much of the site going to other shops and Bentalls shrinking in size. What you see here is the preserved facade of a store that was so familiar to me in my formative years. It is now owned by Fenwicks.
