Seaton Carew

County Durham

Seaton Carew is a small seaside resort in the north-east. It may not be as warm as the south, but the sands along there are excellent.

Centre stage in my photo is part of the art-deco bus station that was built in 1938. It was apparently the first structure to use concrete in a curved form.

Marvelous combination of the old with the new architecture. Beautiful sky!

Fascinating about the concrete curves. I love the art deco lines. And the sky is awesome!

Hmmm, I know they were anxious for change but I can't say the cross from Art Deco to Mid Century Modern was the best of architecture. A bit of a Plain Jane, eh :)

That's a very splendid though quiet bus station.
