BOAC Vickers VC10
G-ARVB

Photographed at London's Heathrow airport at the time when British Airways had just been incorporated from the merger of BOAC and BEA which were both state-owned airlines, one operating long-haul services and the other European services.

The hangar on the left was built for the Lockheed TriStar which had yet to be delivered to the new organisation, whilst the long hangar on the right dated from the 1950's and was demolished a few years ago.

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I'm sure I built an Airfix BOAC VC10 just like this when I was very small.

This is well cool, especially the old logos and the retro styling of the plane. Oh, wait! This is for real! One year after I was born!
