Visiting this gallery again.. I just can't describe what it does to me.. there is a very deep, emotional reaction I get from viewing these images.

Steve, I agree with you entirely and feel the same way about the image...therefore, I'm changing the name to "missed" and using the title of "missing" for a different image

This is one of my favourites but the title isn't quite right. Missing suggests that something is missing from the photo, and it, or they are, but I think the tittle should suggest how the objects remaining in the photo are feeling as a result of them being "missing", like an abandoned toy (e.g. Toy Story movie).

Thanks for all the help with this one and it's 3 versions. I have settled on this as the one I think is the strongest for the project, for the reasons shared by all.

Have sat on this (no pun intended) for a few days as wanted to see how it felt when I came back to it a few times. First of all - I prefer the diptych than the standalone image on the left. I should rephrase actually - it's not a preference of one image vs a combined two - just that I get more of a story when they're together. Took me a while to make this conclusion so it's definitely a considered one and wasn't by much. In terms of colours - is even closer. I prefer the brighter colours on the swings, but think this one fits the role of the project better, so I guess I lean towards the latter. Overall tho, my original comments stand. Great great image that compliments "still" extremely well and am now off to your next image! Vote (again).

I now see the difference (didn't realize the other image was still available). Although, like Jeff says, the bright red and blue swings have an "Americana" look I think this image is the stronger of the two because the two images now have a much more consistent relationship in tonality and mood.

Hmmmm...I don't know which version I like better of the swings - there was something "Americana" about the red and blue.

Thanks...I actually changed the hue and brightness of the swings, they were bright red and bright blue. The original is actually the next image in this gallery. It was very easy to do since the only blue and red in the image was the swings (meaning no layer masks necessary).

Did you de-saturate the color on the swings? I can't remember the original exactly. Anyway . . . works and looks great. Stephen's eye for the inverted V is right on. V also = Vote. :-)

These work really well together, with the similar colouring and the inverted V perspective. Nice diptych... (V)
