London weekend with the new Canon 70-300mm L-series lens
I was one of the first people to buy Canon's 70-300mm L series lens. I tested it by taking it to London for a weekend (the weather was gloomy and terrible). Here are some images as Sue and I walked round London's east-end docklands. I was very impressed by the sharpness of this lens and its image stabilization.
While in London we went to Ballet Rambert at Sadler's Wells - a quite fantastic experience. I also went to the British Museum for the first time and looked at the Greek period (about 500 BC). They let you take photographs ... unusually for a national museum. We saw the quite magnificent Elgin Marbles - if they ever make me prime minister I promise that my first task will be to return them to Athens.
