Fire destroys Fisher home in College Grove, TN

March 2, 2008 at 1:30AM My son was awakened by the dog Maggie going crazy, he couldn't figure out what was wrong with her, he slipped into flannel pajamas to take her out. Opened the bedroom door and felt the door knob was warm and when opened saw pitch blackness and fire raging in the kitchen. He yelled at Lori to get the kids and get out the house was on fire. 5 firetrucks later and 22,000 gallons of water and it was a hopeless battle, they could not save the house nor anything in it. But 4 lives, the dog and cat were saved by the grace of God. The rest is just material. They walked away with just the pajamas on their backs but they have each other. These pictures were taken starting at 4:30PM around 15 hours after the fire and it is still burning. At least the 5 acres are still there. Casey wants his home back, Adam wants new stuff, Mom & Dad want to wake up from the horrible dream. Photos by Barbara Dale

Barb Rosalie told Rose and I about the fire. My computer has been on the blink for two days and just got it to working again. Our prayers are for all of you and thank God that no one was hurt. Rose and Chuck

Hi guys!!! I am like so happy no one was hurt in the fire. Thank god!! By the way this is Robert Dason's oldest daught. Hope you guys will be able to build or find a new house soon. My prays will be with you for a few months. You guys sould be thankful to have such a good dog that worned you about the fire.Ttys=talk to you soon. :) Luv you guys

Buddy, Lori and kids, Thank God that one was hurt!!! You know that if you should need somethign, just ask. Nothing is too small. I trust that you will rebuild bigger and better than before. Keep your heads up!! Look at this way, now you can have that master bedroom that you two have been dreaming about!! Love you guys!!! Robert

Dear Dale Family, I know how deeply wounded you feel now, as I had a house fire in 1993 and lost ALMOST everything - EXCEPT MY DAUGHTER AND MY LEFE! It doesn't make the pain go away, but I know you feel very thankful that you ALL were spared, even your pets. I lost one of my dear cats in the fire. The day of the fire, a dear friend and his wife came to survey what was left, what he said said to me has been etched forever on my mind. "There are only two things in life, relationships and junk, and what you just lost was a bunch of junk." I was devastated to hear those words, it was stuff, but it had so many memories. After a LOT of tears of thankfulness and pain, I have come to appreciate those words forever in my life. I know now the truth to the words, "we come into this world with nothing, and we will leave the same way." That is true, EXCEPT, for the memories and joy we brought to others through relationships. The end of the story was even brighter though, as you will see the friendship and love of strangers -- We had everything we needed and more within days. You will know the blessings of the Lord -- We felt loved and cared for, and not forgotten. And you will learn how to share with yet another hurting soul years down the road -- I can only share with you now, after I experienced your same trial by fire. May the Lord bless you.
