Seems my great grandfather was a composer/musician.
He wrote over 1000 hymns before his death at age 54.
He had scarlet fever as a child which affected his hearing
to the point of having to use a wooden rod that he placed against his teeth on one end, and the pedal of his organ on the other. This enabled him to continue writing after his hearing got very bad by "hearing" the notes through vibration.
His son ,my grandfather, played trombone as his only job during the depression, his wife played the organ for the silent movies in Tulsa
My dad played trumpet on a scholarship to O.U. and played on weekends the rest of his life. He was quite good.
