Funny how a nursing home can calm a bunch of rowdy boys.
We took our 3-4thgraders to a nearby nursing home tonight.
They had made cards and we handed them out and talked(listened)

I was encouraged at the respect our kids showed. We have some very difficult ones.
They made us proud.

Above is one of our most energetic kids riveted on what this woman was having to say.
Wished I knew what it was.

The residents get SOOOOO much out of visits like this.

Do something special for an elderly person this week.
I promise you won't be disappointed.

If you have kids, teach them the value of the knowledge these folks have to offer.
Hey, they didn't have unpayable credit card debt.Didn't buy houses they couldn't pay for.
Didn't expect the world to be fair,or for someone to GIVE them anything.
My mother is a great example of their mindset.
Her biggest fear is for any of her kids to have to give her a dime of support.
We have certainly lost that mindset.
Egocentricity is the model of today.

A wonderful shot. A perfect capture of their rapt attention.
