Gustav

We took the kids on a last minute science museum trip and found it full of people from New Orleans.
Across the parking lot was a Red Cross truck and police, and refugees
(I guess that is what they would be called?)

Shreveport is 45 minutes from our house, and it was eerie to be at the same place as the people we have heard about all week on the news.

other sizes: small medium original auto

We have a lot of evacuees here too. My family from southern LA is up here right now but should be able to head back tomorrow. No major damage but they had no electricity. Where they live, their electricity should be back up by tomorrow evening, so they say. I'm glad I live up here. I hear you guys got a lot of rain from Gustav!

Good news all around. 1) Gustav seemed to be a little over-hyped, 2) People figured out how to get the hell out of town, and 3) At least they went to a place that had a top notch doctor there. ;)
