Kalvehave revisited

I once lived in Gl. Kalvehave (1970-83), and this gallery shows pictures from a bicycle trip I made one summer day in 2004. Starting from Vordingborg, I went through Nyråd, Stensved, and Langebæk before reaching Gl. Kalvehave. I thereafter returned along the same route. Kalvehave is located about 100 km south of Copenhagen, Denmark. My favorite photo in the gallery is this one: http://www.pbase.com/clandk/image/35113790/original

Note: "Gl. Kalvehave" = Old Kalvehave whereas "Kalvehave" = "Kalvehave Færgegård" = the one with a ferry (before 1943 - when the bridge to Møn was established - a ferry used to go from Kalvehave to Møn - see map). "Gl. Kalvehave" is smaller than "Kalvehave". In the old days it used to be "Kallehave", and, for example, H.C. BTW: I just (January 1, 2007) did a google on "Kalvehave" and much to my surprise, this small gallery was actually the first on the list. I pendle between Kalvehave and Copenhagen. Here's updated info on transportation: Train to Rødby (almost every hour from Copenhagen). Get off in Vordingborg. Take bus 62 to Stege, which usually fits train time and stops i Kalvehave. About two hour trip. Cost: 12 Euro. By car. Take motorway to Vordingborg. Turn off at Møn exit. Good two lane main road to Kalvehave. About one hour trip. For a nicer route: Turn off at Bårse exit. Takes fifteen minutes longer, but is worth it.

I will go to Kalvehave via Copenhagen next month. How can I go to Kalvehave from Copenhagen. Should I go to by train or by bus and where can I find information about this. Thank you for your kind interest.

I was considering a time share in this town Osterso Faergegarg. If I rent a car in Copenhagen is the drive to this time share on a good road. Do I drive on the opposite side of the road as in England? Is there a bus that would take me from this time share location into Copenhagen if I decide to not rent a car? Would I be better off getting off the cruise ship and forgetting about a time share and renting a downtown hotel room for two or three days.

I lived in Nyråd from '67 to '85, so it was nice to see the pictures from my childhood area. Nice pictures, Claus. Brings up a lot of memories, good and bad.
