Today, like every other day
even if it is so called "father's day" in my country
i would be thankful if i had the privilege of being a father
To participate in giving life, what can be more beautiful.
But, "giving" life is a huge responsibility and it is not enough to just "give life".
Life has to be respected, nurtured and honoured.

Nobody has the right to "remove" life...
The killing of a life can be done too easily,
and blood does not always have to flow.
Killing the spirit and inner beauty
of another human being is way too easy...

Sadly, too many sleepwalkers in this life do just that
they "remove" life and the worst part...they are not even aware of it
because of their ignorance, selfishness and lack of empathy
or perhaps even more tragic...they don't know how to love
because they have never really been loved themselves...

And too often it is simply by the stupidity of their actions or inaction,
other times by the killing words they use without even thinking of
their consequences, in some cases, that will last a lifetime,
leaving damages that only them could repair...if they themselves were MEN enough
and had a heart at the right place...

I want to celebrate all the fathers who are loving, supportive and helping
their children and people around them to become all of who they can be
without putting an expiry date on their father role...

There are also those fathers who are good fathers
but somehow, for reasons difficult to comprehend
who are separated from their own flesh and blood
because....because.
Which is ultimately sad and unfair.

Giving life to life is the challenging part.
Just make sure you will always be there for your own flesh and blood,
no matter how old your children are, they need the sense of connection,
this bond that has no real explanation has to be kept alive.
When is the last time you said a meaningful i love you to your own children
and "proved" it to them?
Make sure they know and feel your love.
Love is not a chain...love is freedom without distance.
Even if your children live on another continent,
physical distance is irrelevant, the closeness should overcome the distance.

Happy father's day, week, month, year, decades
to the "deserving" and all loving fathers
in real life and in spirit...
