2011 Christmas.jpg

Many have asked for an updated picture. I must say I really do not like pictures of me and never have. But here is one my daughter took this past Christmas. As you can see I do have a scar. My bangs hide most of the forehead scar until the wind blows. But really, scars are just a part of me now. I am blessed each and every day I can honor Him and serve. What you really need to look at is my smile! That's right, a simple smile. I can smile, laugh and enjoy life. Life is not in vanity, but in how you live it. No matter what I have been through or you have/are going through I pray you have found joy, peace, healing, His love and the ability to really smile no matter what.

Hi, I had MOHS on my upper ear a month ago. Thank you for your comprehensive blog of your journey with BCC. If I hadn't done my own research on the 'net, I would have been shocked at how much of my ear they took and the reconstruction required. You are still helping people years later. Thank you. Merry Christmas.

Thankyou so very much with your candid story of your cancer surgery. I too underwent MOHS surgery on my nose just 5 days ago. It is comforting to read that I'm not alone with this situation. Diane

Thank you so very much for your story and your photos. I had Mohs 9 days ago next to my nose but they closed it without having to do any flaps. This is the 3rd Mohs, 5th BCC for me, but somehow I was more worried about it this time. The photos and description of your recovery from the first reconstructive surgery were exactly what I needed to feel (a) grateful and (b) prepared for next time. Lots of people have BCC and lots of people say "oh that's nothing", but your site makes it clear that BCC is a no-nonsense proposition. I appreciate you so much, and I hope you are getting your regular skin surveys and telling the doctor about every single dot/bump/lump that's different from the last time! That's the key. Oh, and it isn't all sun damage, either. One of mine was on my shoulder, which never sees sunlight. God bless you.

Christine, you are beautiful. I see the sparkle in your eyes, the smile on your lips and the smile you gave Santa. I pray you have many many more blessed years. I am also a cancer survivor 5 times now.
