I think it might be Lomandra micrantha, with the common name irongrass here in Oz. Certainly makes a pretty sight Carol. Can you take a close up of the bloom so I can check it with
my book?

I think the flowers are used as dried flowers...but the name doesn't pop up

We call them the Ironweed. They are wonderful to attract butterflies.
