Mary Frances Johnston, 1865-?

Daughter of Robert "Red Robin" Johnston and Mary "Mae" Frances McQueen

Mary was the youngest daughter of Robert "Red Robin" Johnston. Here she is pictured at 9 years old and all dressed up. We know very little about Mary. According to the 1871 census she was born in 1865. She is listed as "Mary Ann". We have her full name written on the reverse of a photograph though as "Mary Frances". She was named after her mother and was said to have been the image of her mother as a young girl. We have 2 photographs of her, this one taken in 1874 and a later one with her brother William in 1878. Then she just disappears. We have no further information. Can someone help us with her?

The emulsion is so badly damaged on the original tintype that I limited my resoration work to the most obvious damage.
