I put this shadow box together to remind us of the sacrifices that my grandfather Clifford Johnston, #89804, Canadian Field Artillery, Canadian Expeditionary Force. WW I, made.
He fought in most of the major battles of WW I, was hit by shrapnel, and suffered from mustard gas poisoning which eventually cut his life short.
7-28-17: Tonight I was able to verify that my grandfather was a Knight Templar, a tradition in our family going back to the Crusades. This tradition was interrupted by his death while his sons were still young, too young for the tradition to be passed on. We will revive it.
