Another Johnston Family Album has come to light recently. It was kept by a daughter of Archibald Johnston/e. It now appears that we made a mistaken identity. These are not Archibald Johnston and his wife Margaret Gordon. If you have photos of them, please, let me know.

Archie was the cousin of Robert "Red Robin" Johnston/e and possibly the brother of Francis Johnston. Archie was born in IRELAND. He was married to Margaret "Peggy" Gordon whose father may have been born in Kilrea, County Derry.

The brothers tried to retain the "e" on the end of their surname as this spelling crops up here and there. Eventually government bureaucrats won the battle and they dropped the "e", but they refused to drop the "t" even though some officials tried to do it for them.
