This quiet little town is one of the small resorts where the Mexicans go for their vacations. It is not as busy, or as crowded, as Puerto Vallarta, but if you want to see an authentic little fishing village where you can sip a Dos Eques at a beachside restaurant while the fishing boats are launched and retrieved and the pelicans swoop and dive in the warm waters of the Bahia de Navidad, this may be your town. There are gringo visitors, some who spend their whole winters here and in the nearby community of Barra de Navidad, a slightly upscale more touristy village two kilometers down the beach, but it is the Mexican visitors and residents who give the village its ambiance.
