This is a photo of an old image of a bonfire built in 1979 in Garyville park. It was one of the first bonfires that used heavy equipment and trucks to construct it. It is the largest bonfire built in the River Parishes, and was too large to build on the levee per normal tradition. During that decade, or at least around that time, Reserve also constructed one of the largest bonfires built on the levee adjacent to Central Avenue in Reserve.
