In the village of Boca Da Valeria I befriended a 10 year old boy, he took me to meet his mother and they brought me into their home. It was built on stilts with only
2 very small rooms. Their grandmother lived with them but I only saw one cot, they pointed to the ceiling where the hammocks they slept in were hung,
letting them down at night to sleep on and pulling them back up for the day. Their 2nd room was more like a little porch with a wooden table for the kitchen.
I only took 4 quick shots as I felt a little embarrassed taking photos of their home, since the were so kind to invite me in.
3 hammocks on the ceiling, one can barely be seen as the room was too small to be able to get a shot.
I can imagine your discomfort Carol...it's all about boundries, how far to go without intruding...lovely that you were welcomed into their humble home...we must hope they are happy.
