Common Goldeneye On The Ottawa River

I was very happy to see this Goldeneye so close to shore but, in following it, I made the mistake of trusting an old path. I went through the snow and got an icy-cold 'soaker'. Thankfully, I kept my boot and was able to get away safely. Linda had warned me... Lesson learned.

I am also grateful that it was only one boot full. It could have been much worse. The shore is so deceiving at this time of year. I hope everyone is careful.
