Searching for a bird. Best description I can provide:
Size of a Blue Jay
Brownish tan in colour
Has a crest that matches body colour
Long pointed beak
Appeared to have a reddish ring partially around neck
Was foraging on ground

That's all have right now. Waiting to see it again.

Sounds like a Red-winged Blackbird to me. Their black feathers sometimes cover up the red patch only leaving the edge of yellowish feathers showing.
