Cincinnati is finally making steps towards a downtown that might welcome people. The tower compliments these steps, as well as the Banks project. But will our politicians find a way to mess it up, that remains to be seen. I am trying to remain positive, but talks of this rail to clifton and the location of the proposed Casino do not give me much hope in the decision making capability of our elected council. We need to take control through voting to make sure we keep these greedy and untrustworthy few don't ruin our city! Then building will continue to keep people employed and we will have a city that thrives again.

I think the building is perfect. Cincinnati doesn't need to go supertall quite yet, having one as tall as cleveland's or indianapolis's would throw off the skylines balance. Cinci should build skyscrapers more frequently, but make them get higher over time.

The whole U.S. needs better. We are falling behind Spain, China, U.A.E., Germany, and so many other countries that are constantly producing architectural masterpieces. Architecture in the U.S. is falling by the wayside. I'm glad to see this tower going up, but we need more buildings like this across the country. We need to rebuild our image here and bring the U.S. back to a place that displays our accomplishments in engineering and technology through architecture.

Wow Cincinnati SO needs better.... we've fallen behind Columbus and Indianapolis... Make Great American Tower better please, so we dont have another Scripps Center... Short and sqauty

Cincinnati has an icon, it is the Tyler Davidson Fountain. It may not be internationally known but adding 100 feet to Queen City Square isn't going to create an icon either. Indianapolis has a 700 ft building and it certainly isn't an icon. Brussels, Belgium which is home to the European Union has a peeing statue as an icon. Yes, definately they need to make some last minute changes... This Tower needs to be a lot taller 760 feet? or taller? Cincinnati needs an icon, especially with Cincinnati-Dayton-Northern Kentucky metro area merger talks around 2010!! We need a taller building!

This building needs to be a lot taller, in Cincinnati there are squaty towers. Carew, Scripps and now Great American Building at Queen City Square, Scripps and Carew Tower would have looked alot better if they had been taller. Hopefully they decide last minute changes to make this thing taller, so it can be an icon!

i think they should have made it 10 stories higher, so the tiera wouldnt look like half the building

I am not an architect, but the building with its tiara is beautiful and fitting for a town with the nickname "Queen City". It is the right balance between being noticeably different from the city's other skyscrapers, but still compatible with the skyline as a whole. The city's skyline is not large enough to have a radical design in one of its largest buildings (smaller buildings yes, largest no). Thankfully, it does not look like mixed use skyscraper that is being proposed in Louisville, block-like and ugly. It will overpower and take away from Louisville's existing and attractive skyline.

"a modern tower" this tower is anything but modern. it is a poor, postmodern interpretation of well done art deco buildings such as the carew tower and the chrysler building. the architect should be ashamed. I agree cincinnati needs a modern skyscraper, but look around the world at what is being built presently and it pretty quickly becomes apparent that this building is 20 years too late if not 80.

it will start within the next year.....how do i know? because my company is building it and we have started the preconstruction for it....give a another year and you will see the southern western garage being demolished

Height doesnt make a city, but to compete in America, a tall building can do wonders for image, progress and the economy. Its been over 70 years since Carew was built and its past due for a modern tower..just wish they would stop wasting time

Cincinnati doesn't need to compete with Indianapolis, it is far superior. Height doesn't make a city, visit Europe sometime and you will see what I am talking about.
