Hartwell


Hartwell is one of the 52 neighborhoods that make up Cincinnati located on the west side of the city accessible via Route 4.
It is the most northern neighborhood in Cincinnati and primarily residential. The housing stock is modest and well
maintained with amazing affordability.

I also was disappointed that there were none of the old Victorians around the Circle and Woodbine, etc. That is where Hartwell history can be seen, not the Valleydale section. But I did enjoy seeing the beautiful Hartwell School that has so many memories for me and my family.

I was surprised to find my parents' first home under the Hartwell section...although I think it's really Valleydale. As I understood it, Hartwell is actually in the Cincinnati city limits while Valleydale is Springfield Twp. Regardless, I was fun to find our first home on Banbury. Hartwell is full of amazing older homes, many having been lovingly restored. It's a little gem that is often overlooked.

I think those photos are actually of Valleydale which is part of Springfield Twp. Half of Vine is Springfield Twp and the east side of Vine is Hartwell. I dont recognize any of the homes so that is what I am thinking. Great houses on Curzon, Wiswell, Kearney, Woodbine and Parkway Circle (eu...the Circle Churches on Parkway--great old buildings!) Too many streets to list. www.hartwellohio.com has info about the neighborhood that may interest you as well.

I agree Linda as a resident of Hartwell and I live on Kearney. I cant wait to check back and see photos added. Thanks for including the pic of our welcome to Hartwell sign. We did that on Make a Difference Day with volunteers from the community!

Linda, I live in the area so I will be back to explore more. It can be overwhelming at times to cover so much land but I have made a note to look into the old victorians.

Thanks for your views of my growing up home, Elmwood, Carthage and especially Hartwell!It's been a while since I've been back "home" but these from Hartwell all (or most all)look like the homes west of Vine Street. What a shame you didn't see the old Victorians around the old village: on Wooddbine, kearney, Parkway and the old church on Parkway Circle!
