Yes, K, I thought of that crop myself...and this is partially cropped top and bottom a little....but I wanted a wide expanse of green water relative to the shore. I'll post my original to pending...and your version also. My original had a tilt, I kind of liked this to disorientate without really saying why, sort of a subconscious irritation. Colour of the water is brilliant, at the the same time I am not sure that this is a good subject for the 'wide' photography. For my taste it is too much empty space on the left site and too many small subjects, creating the feeling of chaos, on he right site. I tried to zoom and crop the picture so that the "water" line starts at he right down corner, and I like he result better (even it is no wide) - but again, this is just for my taste, which is definitely very subjective.

Yes, a pretty scene indeed; and well captured. Love that water color.

Thanks Paul, It is shocking to me how cold the Pacific Ocean is here along the So Cal coast. I am told that this is so due to the steep drop off of the continental shelf here, as opposed to a gentle glide down as in Hawaii or the Caribbean. Burrrrrrr! Best Wishes, Traveller

From the spectacular color of that water I wondered if you were in Cozumel Mexico rather than LA. Paul

Peter, I was jealous of your Storm Front and Storm Front II. In my own way I wanted to replicate and re-interpret your fabulous technique with wide angle...however, a hundred yards of sand will completely ruin a nice pair of black dress shoes...which I had on. I was also in a suit so it would be hard to roll up my pant legs...

So I did it my way, from the Hermosa Beach Pier...Manhattan Beach Pier can be seen in the distance.

It worked out well.

Wow! Look at the color of that water. Just beautiful! Excellent perspective & leading lines. Interested in how you shot this. Is it a single wide angle shot, or a pano? Were you on a bridge, in a hot air balloon, or maybe para-sailing like the person in the distance?
