Ready to Celebrate!

Centurion, South Africa

I usually do not post entries in Challenges where I play host, so you are not allowed to vote for this one. :-)

It is merely a shameless commercial for the FIFA Football (Soccer) World Cup 2010 which kicks off in South Africa very shortly. If you have not yet booked your tickets to come join the celebration, you still have a few days left. :-)

'The Jabulani, which means "to celebrate" in isiZulu, features a South African-inspired design and radically new technology. Eleven colours are used in the adidas Jabulani, the 11th adidas World Cup ball. These 11 colours represent the 11 players in every team, the 11 official languages of South Africa and the 11 South African communities that make the country one of the most ethnologically diverse countries on the African continent. The colourful design is designed to bring together the tremendous diversity of the country in harmonious unity. Four triangle-shaped design elements on a white background lend the ball a unique appearance in African spirit. And like the outer facade of Johannesburg's Soccer City Stadium, individual design elements also capture the colourfulness of South Africa.'

I also hope things go well for everyone at the World Cup. - CameraShy09

The World Cup is all over the media here in Australia Nico. There's a general feeling that Australia got a raw deal from the refs in 2006 and a lot of (prossibly misplaced) optimism about 2010. Australia's first game (against Germany, I believe) might be revealing. I'm not a big sports fan, but I hope it goes well. Regards, Michael

Thanks, Kelly. Yep, I realise that... it has just become a habit of mine not to. :-)
