The Lancaster was built at Chester which is where my father worked during the war and would possibly have done some work on this plane. Now Airbus during the war it was Vickers Armstrong and then De Havilland when the comet the first jet liner was built. Because the runway was so short the comets built at Chester were flown out unfinished to Hatfield. The factory then became BAC.
