Stanley Park is located within walking distance of downtown Vancouver and adjacent to one of the most densely neighbourhoods in Canada. It is the jewel in the crown that is the west coast. At 400 hectares (1000 acres) Stanley Park is one of the world's largest urban wilderness parks in the world. Governor General Lord Stanley dedicated the park in his name in 1888.
