Very striking and powerful image. It almost seems as if the torment is over as your spirit rises out of your body. Is this a double exposure or a Photoshop merge?

I like this photo a lot it has something mysterious...a perfect photo for a book cover ;)

oh, and i'm still in awe of how you've managed to use multiple exposure to so effectively conceptualise the torment and confusion you feel. torn between the harsh reality of truth and the alluring world of illusion. all in a single frame! the fact that you are where you are with your art already still astounds me. your star status can only continue to grow!! :) x

oh, the words of Sartre! like Ana, this is still one of my favourites of yours. it has been since i first saw it and that seems like ages ago now! it's a stark contrast to your previous 'back to nature' where you seem so at peace and lost in pleasant dreams...but here you remind us that dreaming isn't so straight-forward and easy. there's a huge part of people like you and i...dreamers..artists...that has a constant need to escape from a mould, a struggle to pull away from all that the world would want us to believe, and to express things how they really actually are in our hearts. disenchantment...freedom from illusion...it fits perfectly here. perhaps i love this photo so much because it sums up your art and vision. honest, real and always emotive.

A shiver of my soul aching for release from its broken wing.A crack in my heart weeping woe that no one can hear.Among the nest of light where comfort cannot be mine.Writhing without escape.Like an empty wind bottled, soffocating within a lost cloud.

I think I may have commented on this image previously, on EB or deviantART? For me, this is probably the most striking and powerful piece of art that I've seen of yours. It not only speaks to me personally, but it screams. Technically, it feels perfect and I really admire your talent as an artist and photographer. But emotionally, spiritually, from the soul...this pictures says so much to me. I can't say what it is...some emotions are beyond words. Some things are better expressed this way, through a lens, through our eyes, bodies and hearts.

I think this was the very first photo from you that I've seen... I went back to your EB pages to see what I've written you last year:
"This one is my favourite in the series. I believe you've done a great work here.
This vision of yours that you've chose to call tormented, speaks deeply to many of us... It's quite a realisation though and I congratulate you on being able to express yourself in your photos in such a profound way."

I guess everything I wrote is valid still and I don't know why, but I have a special fondness for this photo... your work these days is more consistent and it's a reflection of your growth as an artist, but if you don't mind, I think this one will always be one of my favorites ;)

Your powerful title affects the expression profoundly, Christine. Looking at this image by itself, it suggests a dream-like state, or reverie. Some might also see it as a metaphor for a "return to nature." Yet your title says otherwise, and makes us see a painful image instead.
