There are a couple fascinating things about this photograph for me. The first is that this is not a stick thin beautiful model; she is certainly beautiful, but she is also real. The second is the loss of part of the right hand...for me, this symbolizes movement and a sense of incompletion. Finally, the eyes, looking back, perhaps at the photographer, breaking the plane of disbelief. Overall, a lovely photograph made more lovely by those things that tell us that art is about the real.
